Steps for Submitting Your Application

Your application will be considered final once all required fields of the online application form have been fully completed and the necessary attachments have been uploaded. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. If, for any reason, you interrupt the process while filling out the application form, the system will save the data entered up to that point when you click the “Save” button. You can return to the form later and continue the application process from where you left off. Once you have completed all the required sections, made the necessary declarations, and uploaded the required documents, you can finalize your application by clicking the “Submit” button. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission. If any documents or information are missing, you will be notified via email with instructions on how to complete your application.

You will have one opportunity to provide any missing documents or information. Further details regarding the completion process will be provided by the secretariat of the relevant Doctoral School.

Please carefully read the instructions for each section to know the required file formats for uploading.

Admission Process

The admission process consists of a preliminary document review and an oral admission interview.

The Admission Committee of the chosen Doctoral School conducts an oral interview with the applicants in order to get to know the applicant, assess the feasibility of their research plan, learn about their previous scientific activities and achievements, and evaluate their level of language proficiency.

Based on the submitted documents and the admission interview, the committee evaluates the applicants’ performance on a 100-point scale according to the following criteria:

  1. previous academic performance (grade of MSc/MA/university degree) – maximum 30 points (excellent diploma 30, good diploma 20, average 10 points);
  2. english language proficiency – maximum 15 points (advanced level 15 points, intermediate level 11 points, basic level 7 points for a complex language exam; if the applicant does not have a complex language exam, 50% of the points will be awarded for a written or oral exam; in the absence of a language exam, 0-7 points can be obtained based on an on-site oral assessment);
  3. achievements demonstrated during previous research, creative, and/or professional work (student scientific awards, scholarly publications, patents, developments supported by documentation) – maximum 30 points;
  4. the applicant’s ideas regarding the doctoral research and the feasibility of the proposed research program – maximum 25 points.

Further details on the scoring system are provided in the Operational Regulations of the doctoral schools.

A minimum of 60 points is required for admission to the doctoral program. Achieving 60 points is only a necessary condition for admission, but it does not guarantee admission, nor does it guarantee the award of any scholarship.

Applicants will be notified in advance via email by the secretariat of the relevant Doctoral School regarding the date, location, and format of the oral admission interview.

Admission Decision – Admission Resolution

The decision regarding the admission or rejection to the Doctoral School is made by the President of the University Doctoral and Habilitation Council based on the recommendation of the Admission Committee, and a resolution is prepared. The admission resolution will be sent to the applicant in writing (via email and postal mail) by the University Doctoral and Habilitation Office.

The tuition and allowance fees related to participation in the doctoral program, as well as the costs associated with specific training formats, are regulated by the University Doctoral and Habilitation Regulations.
